View Customizations being reset

I have a few users who have been upgraded from an R4 client and template to 6.5.1 client and template using Local Mail Replicas and roaming. They customize some of their views via the “Customize View” option and find that they are reset to default at random. Lotus has advised that the views are only meant to be temporary and can be reset when such tasks as designer runs, however, it does not seem to be affecting the majority of other people using this function, including myself. Do the bookmarks needs to be re-created for these people or is there another solution? Any feedback would be appreciated.

We have a user who is experiencing the same problem. The only difference is that he was upgraded from a 5.0.11 client many, many months ago.

I have read that the customized views can reset when the view index is updated or the Design task runs. I have customized my own mail views and updated the view indexes manually and I can’t reproduce the issue. Also, if the view reverted on any schedule that coincides with the Design task running, I would, at least, be able to make sense of it.

It seems to be quite random,however (according to him). Sometimes he will be replying to or sending a message and it resets by the time he returns to his mail, other times, it resets when he logs into Notes. “Retain view column sorting” is also checked in his preferences.

He is currently on a R6.5 client

If anyone in the forum has any more information on this issue, I would also like to know.

Did you ever get this worked out? I am having a user with the same issue (claims that his customized views revert back sometimes in between sending messages).
