View column - Different total in client and designer

Here’s my problem :

I have a view that uses a categorized column for summarizing data. I use another column with the value 1 on which I have selected to create totals. For one of the categories, the total appearing in the designer preview pane is correct, but it is off by one when using the view on the client. i.e. The total column indicates 3 but only 2 main documents appear in the category. All other category totals are OK…this leads me to believe I have some sort of invalid document that is accounted for in the total on the client but is not displayed…any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

Try running Fixup on the database - this should purge any corrupt documents. See if that sorts it out.

Otherwise, if you say that you get the full count in the Designer client, try opening the view in both at the same time and just comparing which documents you can see in each. This should help you narrow down which one it is at least and you may be able to get to it a different way.
