Veritas Backup Exec 10.0 Email Problem

I am trying to set up event email notification through Lotus Notes R6.5.1 using the VIM mail set up. I have the directory entered but I am not sure what password to enter. To start the server or access the client on my server, no password is required. If I do not enter a password and click on Apply, I get the error message V-19-310-I-25.

Has anyone successfully set this up?

My understanding is that to use VIM you have to have Notes client install on the same box where you have Backup Exec which in most cases it’s not true insted use SMTP notification setting, and excuse me if info I’m going to provide isn’t corroct anymore since I’m still on 9.1 Backup exec, if email notification setup hasn’t change drasticaly in version 10 here is how you do this:1. in Backup Exec Tools - Email and Pager notification

  1. SMTP configuration tab check enabled, specify your mail server host name or IP, specify SMTP port most cases 25, default sender does not matter can be something like backup@mydomain.com

  2. if you have not create receipient person yet now go to recipients and create one

  3. click TEST
