VB Application and Sending Emails with Hotspots

Dear Forum

Does anyone have some sample VB code that I could use to send emails containing either a URL link or a Lotus Notes Hotspot that contains a URL link.

I have searched thee internet and information suggests that this is not possible.

Thank you all, for your time any help would be gratefully appreciated.

With Kind Regards

Paul

Paul – did you ever get a response to this or find a way to make it work? I have searched high and low and cannot find a way to do it. Any help you could provide would be marvelous. If anyone else has a solution, that would be great too

Thanks!

A question… are you looking to generate links into lotus databases from an external application? aka are the emails just regular smtp mails that will wind up in notes?

if u are wanting to generate links that will refer to notes client access…

Amazing. I was meaning to ask a similar question to the OPs.

You have a great answer but is there someway to dide the URL and display text instead, like in a true hotspot?

I am using the Notes Client to send but I really don’t want to send a link (doclink, viewlink, dblink). I would rather be able to programaticlly (dynamiclly) generate and send a hotspot like, Click here.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thank you Fletcher for your interest.

I have a external app that has the option to dynamically send out emails based on certain condtions. Our app supports Lotus Notes among others.

I have a client who wish to have the option of setting the body text of an outgoing email to be HTML with a hot spot named Terms and Conditions which then in turn links through to a url on the client intranet (I know Lotus appears from what I have read to have issues with this programatically)

I am lookng for sample code that would demonstrate this form of methodology in VB.

I hope I have been explicit enough to explain the requirements.

Once again thank you for you time and assistance. It is appreciated

With Kind Regards

Paul
