Variant crashing LN commonusername

Dim cnimplementer AS Variantcnimplementer=Evaluate ( |@Name([CN];Implementer)|,dialog)

Call odoc.ReplaceItemValue(“Implementer”,cnimplementer)

The above is causing LN to crash - causing I am using a variant. How to convert the first line of the code to Lotus Script? I just want to get rid of the /OU /O , etc
