Validating rich text field without saving the doc

Hi,

We have a requirement in one of our applications, where-in a validation checks needs to be run on a rich-text filed.

But can this be done without saving the document, becoz as per my knowledge any validation/activity on a rich-text field requires the document to be saved.

Any idea how to go about

try this.

If Trim(uidoc.FieldGetText(“FieldName”))=“” Then

Call uidoc.Refresh(True)

Set rtitem=uidoc.Document.GetFirstItem("FieldName")

If Not Isarray(rtitem.EmbeddedObjects) Then

	Msgbox "Pl. Specify your remarks.",16,"DB"

	Call uidoc.gotofield("FieldName")

	ValidateData=False		

	Exit Function

End If

End If

Key is to refresh the uidoc before taking a handle to rtitem.
