I am planning to put a .nsf created using v7.02 on a v5.08 domino server. However,I have a v7.02 notes client. Can I access my v7.02 database via v5.08 domino server? has anyone actually tested? any problem?
tq in advance.

It depends on what is in the database. If you have R7-level code in the database, the R5 server won’t be able to execute it.

I addition, I seem to remember that the ODS changed from version 5 to 6, so your version5 server might not even be able to open the database.

I don’t plan for server to execute anything, just for me to access it via server from my PC which is using Notes 7.02 client. Possible? tq.

If you are network-connecting to the servers hard-drive, so that your Notes client is accessing the *nsf file directly, that should work. (But only one user will be able to open the database at a time.)
However, if you are accessing the database through the server (File / Database / Open / etc…) then it’s the server code that’s reading the database, and passing the results to your client. I think that will fail if you put a version 7 database on a version 5 server.

in that case, I just put it in common directory. tq
