I have a view “Ticket View” and in the selection criteria i have written ,
SELECT (Form = “Ticket Form” ) &
x_fd_username = @V3UserName
where x_fd_username contains the user name which has raised the ticket. What I want that whoever opens that view , he/she can only see tickets raised by him/her that’s why I wrote the condition x_fd_username = @V3UserName but it doesnt work properly.Sometime it shows only my requests to every user.
Kindly tell what is the issue and how it can be resolved.
Regards,
Aisha Ishrat.
Subject: @V3UserName
Fyi, it may be an idea to see the many discussions on this forum regarding the use of @UserName in a view, and in comments from Designer Help regarding using @UserName in a view (@V3UserName is a very similar function to @UserName, just there for comptibility with notes v3)…
Recently, I heard someone say they get consistent results by using the @username formula in a view in client, but the view needed to the a special view type of ‘Shared, private on first use’ - that seems like a sensible way ahead…
Subject: @V3UserName
you need an embedded view - show single category, that would be your best choice. Look it up in designer help under Views / Single Category
Subject: @V3UserName
Follow the advice of Generic Notes Developer…
You cannot have a shared view with @UserName (or @V3UserName) and get the results you expect unless it’s a Shared, Private on First use view.
Subject: RE: @V3UserName
yups , Shared, Private on First use view works.
Thanks 2 all.
Subject: @V3UserName
@V3Username contains the abbreviated Notes name of the current user i.e. Fred Blogs/UK/ACME (instead of @username, which returns the canonical name CN=Fred Blogs/OU=UK/O=ACME)
If your x_fd_username field only contains the common name (i.e. Fred Blogs) that is why it is not working.
To compare like with like, use @name([CN];@username)

Ignore me - I didn’t read your post properly!
Don’t use @username in a view unless its share, private on first use. Paul’s suggestion is commonly used: embedded view with Show Single category
