The first step for us to move from Outlook to Domino/Notes is to enable POP3 on the Domino server and let the users continue using Outlook. Then we can move them to the Notes client.
I have 1 Domino Server and 1 SMTP server that scans for SPAM and viruses.
Mail comes into the SMTP server (non-Domino Server) and then gets routed to my Domino Server.
For outbound mail, all mail goes thru the Domino Server, is then relayed over to the SMTP server where it is scanned for viruses etc and sent to the internet.
Sending mail out thru Outlook is not working properly and I know it is because of my Inbound SMTP relay settings.
I have…
Deny messages to be sent to the following external internet domains: (* means all) SET with an *
Deny messages from the following internet hosts to be sent to external internet domains:(* means all) SET with an *
Perform Anti-Relay enforcement for these connecting hosts: SET to All Connecting Hosts
Exclude these connecting hosts from anti-relay checks SET to [10.10..] for my internal users.
Exceptions for authenticated users SET to Perform anti-relay checks for authenticated users
This setup is working great for all my internal clients. However, when they are out of the office it doesn’t work because there is no way for me to allow their ip addresses. I don’t know what they will be.
What is the correct way to do this? Obviously, I am not doing it correctly.
Please note that the Notes Client does not have this problem.
