Has anybody in the forum experienced any crashes of their Notes client or their servers while using the aforementioned functions on arrays with large number of data elements? In our case, using the Arrayunique functions on arrays with approximately 5000 elements was crashing the server, in the case of a scheduled agent or a runonserver agent, and crashes the client, if the agent is run manually. A post mail arrive agent was repeatedly crashing one of our servers. After disabling the agent, and on further investigation, we found out that another agent that the post mail arrive agent was calling was the actual cause. It was in the second agent that the array processing was taking place. Also, using Arrayreplace and Fulltrim functions on the same array crashes my Notes client everytime. We are working with IBM Support regarding this issue and just wanted to know if anybody out there has experienced anything similar. I have searched the forum and also the support site and haven’t found any mention about the same. Appreciate your responses.
As a side note, using Arrayappend on the array works just fine.

Haven’t personally experienced this, but have never done such operations on large arrays.
If it is any help I tested arrayunique on an 8000 element string array (each element between 5 and 100 chars long) the result was around 4000 elements with no signs of any crashes on the client. Running 6.5.1 under XP.
Did spot this on the IBM support which may be the issue you logged:

Rufus,
Thanks a lot for your response and for testing the Arrayunique function. I don’t know if it is going to be any different, but the array elements at my end are Notes names in Canonical format. I had tested the agent on two machines around 12 times, and except for a couple of times, the Notes client crashed on all the other instances of Arrayunique being executed. With regards to Arrayreplace and Fulltrim, it crashed all the time.
When IBM Support was contacted with this issue, one of the first questions they asked after analysing the NSDs was are we using Arrayunique or Redim Preserve.
Thanks for pointing to us the technote. No, it wasn’t logged by us, and I had, actually, browsed the same while trying to find a resolution to our problem.
I have tested the Unique function on 15,000 data elements, and the processing completed without any crashes.
As an additional note, all those individuals who have contacted me directly about the solution to this problem, please contact IBM Support and submit a bug report. Without IBM’s intervention the original problem with regards to Arrayunique, Arrayreplace and Fulltrim will not get resolved.
I just thought I should add to this thread, as I had exactly this problem with ArrayUnique in Notes 6.5.2. The client I am developing for is just in the process of upgrading to Notes 8.5.1 and I can confirm that my specific problem does not occur.
