Users getting Remote System Not Responding after upgrading Domino to 8.0.2

Ever since upgrading our Domino server (on iSeries 520) from 7.0.2 to 8.0.2, we have had quite a few users, both 7.0.2 and 8.0.2 clients, getting Remote System No Longer Responding or Remote System Not Responding. For instance, just this morning, I received Remote System Not Responding after logging in to my Windows XP SP 3 PC (like all of our clients) after being away for the weekend, no other apps running, waited to give anything that may need it enough time to start or load in the background before starting my Notes 8.0.2 client. I shut down my Notes client, logged off the PC and logged back in but that didn’t work. I rebooted and that worked. If this did happen under Domino 7.0.2, it was so infrequent that I don’t really recall.

We have approximately 120 e-mail users on this single server - that is the extent that we use Domino/Notes.

Our users are getting frustrated that they have to reboot during the day to access e-mail. It is not as if they haven’t used mail in a while that day, it can happen with frequent or not frequent use.
