Users can not receive an emails from outside domain

Hello,

I re-installed our server because of the Harddisk upgrade.

I followed these steps,

  1. Install Domino server stand alone installation.

  2. Then renamed the data folder to Data1 and restored the tape.

  3. Restart the server

Result.

  1. Users can send and receive email with domain1.

  2. User can send an email to outside domain1.

  3. One of the network administrator verified that Emails are coming thru the firewall in to domain1. But from there it is

not reaching mail.box of lotus notes.

Problem.

  1. Users can not receive an email from outside domain1.

I verified,

  1. SMTP listener task was running

  2. SMTP task was enabled.

  3. fully qualified/Host name was defined properly.

Then again I followed these steps,

  1. Install Domino server stand alone installation.

  2. Then restored the tape \lotus\domino and \lotus\domino\data\ and overwrite the existing files.

  3. Restart the server

But still I don’know what other settings to be checked, so that users can receive an email from outside domain1? All the IP addresses and connections docs etc. are verified and are Ok.

Thanks

Urit

What do you see on the console or in the log for an incoming mail that is bounced ??

You could try to send an email manually via telnet to see why it is rejected.

Thanks for your reply.

I sent an email to test1@yahoo.com from my work email. Email did reached to recipient, and then I replied to that email from yahoo, but it did not even bounce as well as it did not even shows any thing on notes log database. An email is not at all reaching mail.box file.

I did not try telnet which I will be trying.

Thanks

Urit
