UserRoles, documents access

Hi,

I need to permit an optional access for users to documents of different department. This means: I have two departments, which has access to own documents. I need to users from one departament have the possibility of choice whether working on your own documents OR on documents both departaments.

How can i do this?

I know that is it possible to AND two roles. Can i get users possibility to choise UserRoles on login or start the application?

How about creating a view categorized by Department and have the user expand whichever department they wish to manage?

Or if you wish, create separate views.

I would like to avoid doings views. In theapplication I have about 80 defferent views and remake all will take a lot of time. Maybe exist some method, which make possible to do this - by roles - for example?

Without changing any views? I’m not sure I can think of an approach without changing any views. The obvious answer would be to categorize the views (as suggested) and embed the view showing a single category. Alternately, you could use @SetViewInfo in combination with categories rather than embedding. You indicate that it should show them their department’s documents then suggest that they should have a choice. The choice would be doable with either of the above approaches. You would need an action button or keyword field to allow them to choose, then execute the @SetViewInfo or change the category.
