User restriction on send mail to groups

Hi all,

We are having around 1000 users in our Organisation. We would like to control the mail flow in our organisation, so we want to restrict the users sending mails to All user mail group.

As i have refered the lotus document, found an option to restrict on group document properties, security tab. All users by default has reader and above, but i have selected only an group of people and administrator. After that i can able to look up all users group through admin id. Other users cant look up the group from directory.

The problem is the user group members whom i gave rights also cant find the all user group from the directory.I have also restarted the server once.

can any has clue a on it.

Regards

For the solution you opted check the $Readers field in the document property. Also check if there is any other readers field in your group document.

You can also use Extended ACL (xACL), which is a new feature in R6. Refer to the designer help for implementing Extended ACL.

Subject: Check you haven’t restricted

the group of special users from the members :=0

also that the varoius group documents are ACL or Mailing r both as needed.

Subject: RE: Check you haven’t restricted

The group which i’m trying is an mail only group. How Extended ACL will help to restrict an group access ? For restricting the group access,is’t need to be an multi purpose group ?

Subject: I understood you wanted the mailing group

restricted for use by its own members (plus some ‘super users’).

Assuming that is correct,

one way to do it would be to set a readers field on the group document itself recursively i.e. to its own name

(plus the super groups of course).

That way others simply would not be able to pick it

and if they simply typed teh name it, the initial rouring would not work.

[You may need to modify the your NAB to have this field]

However, you are right that sets a neat trap. You want the group to be for mail purposes

but on itself its used for ACL

… so it needs to be Multipurpose.
