User Name Change...now can't access local DBs\Applications

A user went through the name change process a month or two ago. Today she couldn’t open her local journal file or archive.

I was able to use Full Access Administration, map a drive to her C Drive, open her archive file and give her permission to it. Her old name was still listed in the ACL.

But I cannot do it on her journal file. I get the error “You are not authorized to perform that operation”

Any suggestions?

The interesting question is how & why does this happen?

It worked well for us a long time but since a few weeks we get a huge amount of complaints after a rename.

Any ideas what’s causing the problem?

The usual suspects:

  • consistent ACL

  • wrong/no Adminserver

don’t apply in our cases.

hopefully you have a backup of her old notes.id. you will need to switch to it to make the changes.
