User Mailfile Replication Question

Notes Client 5.08 & 6.5.3. Windows 2000. Domino Server 6.X.

I have several users tha copies of their mailfiles on multiple servers, but not by design. From what I can tell, this happening because the mailfiles are replicating between servers. These mailfiles are not included in any of the server replication connection documents. I’ve checked the replication settings on the files and it looks like there is scheduled replication but the check box is greyed out, so I can’t disable it. (I have Full Access Administration set and have Person/Manager rights in the ACL.)

I have a guess that all of these are users whose mailfiles were incorrectly Moved from one server to another, but I can’t verify that. It is possible that something went wrong during the move, I suppose.

Is there a way to uncheck/disable Scheduled Replication given that the check box is greyed out? What might cause that? Is there another way to correctly disable replication between servers?

Thanks,

Dave

Subject: User Mailfile Replication Question

Hi Dave,

I am not sure to understand what you mean. The general tab of the replication settings is always greyed out (in ND6) on a server, this tab is only used when you open a local replica of a db, in the case, you can modify it (try to create a local replica of a db with this issue, and you will be able to modify the general tab)

What do you mean with " I have several users tha copies of their mailfiles on multiple servers, but not by design".

In the last part of your message, I understand there is a replication between servers without any connection documents with the replication activated ? am I right

I guess that was unclear.

We do not intentionally replicate mailfiles to multiple servers. Each user’s mailfile should exist on only one server.

Our servers do have Connection documents, but none of them are specified to replicate any mailfiles.

Dave

I would guess that you’re right; what probably went wrong is nobody ever went into the admin4 db and approved the deletion requests, so the original dbs were never deleted.

If this is correct, then the sensible solution would be to simply delete them.
