User is not recognized in usergroup

Hi

I have a user that is in group x in the pub adressbook. The same group is in the ACL of a database. When I open the ACL of the database and use the Effective Access button to see what groups the user is in I dont see group X in the list. The user has been placed last week in this group. I have checked the groupdocument in the pubnames many times but there is nothing wrong with it.

What else can I do to correct this?

Have checked to see if BOTH the users user Name (Joe Bloggs) AND the users fully qualified name (Joe Bloggs\DEP\COMPANY) are in the group?

HiWhy is it not enough to place only 1 name of the use rin the groupdocument?

You should not need both.

Yup, I agree wholeheartedly that you SHOULD not need both, but I have frequently found that they are both needed.Try putting them both in for this user and see if it resolves your issue. If it doesn’t, it was only a suggestion, but if it does, Wheyhey.

Also, another thing I always do with usergroups is hit the “sort” button after adding a new name. Not sure of the benefit of doing this, but have just always done so as a good practice.
