User deleted bookmark folder

Hi,

Is there any way to get a bookmark folder back after it’s been deleted?

I have a user who doesn’t know how she deleted two bookmark folders, but she wants her Favorite Bookmarks back. I re-created the three bookmarks she needs and put them in the More Bookmarks folder, but she wants that original folder back.

From my reading, once you remove a folder, you’ve also deleted the bookmarks, so even if she got that red star folder back, it would be empty.

I do not believe bookmarks.nsf is backed up anywhere.

Is my only option to create a new folder, choose the red star folder icon, and name it Favorite Bookmarks?

I would save “YES” recreate the folder manually and change the ICON to be correct.

But try this out -

Thanks, Nathan. It appears from the linked documentation that there is no way to restore the bookmark folder in the same state as at the time of removal, so changing the folder icon and re-creating the bookmarks amounts to the same thing as deleting bookmark.nsf and starting with a fresh folder.

Thanks again.
