User always has to press F9 to see new mail in view

A user has set her Mail settings to “Check Mail Every 1 minuite” but she says she always has to press F9 to see new mail. Is this as it should be? Or are new emails supposed to be seen without pressing F9?Many thanks in advance.

I think this is how it’s suppose to be by default.

Checking for new e-mail every 1 minute then performs the task you request below this option. I’ve nevered used it, but it says you can refresh your inbox. (I just play sound.)

FILE > Preference > User Preferences

Mail Tab

Fowarding section -

Check for new mail every x minutes

When new mail arrives section -

Automatically refresh inbox.

Please try Nathan’s work around. If it is not been working, do the following,

Close Lotusnotes Client,

In the Notes.ini, delete the entry NewMailSeqNum=39838.

Save it and open notes client.
