I used this method to update/set the notes.ini parameter DSTLaw. http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21196837
Why?
I have updated all servers and clients (OS and Notes agents) for the new DST 2007. However, I’m having a problem. Users from two different servers (2000 & 2003 running Domino 6.5.4) in the Eastern Time Zone create entries in the extended 3 week period and they display one hour earlier than scheduled.
I have all clients set to “use operating system time zone = yes” and supposedly the DSTLaw parameter is not being used since I’m on 6.5.4 and not running iSeries. However, if I delete this parameter from the notes.ini…it automatically gets written back. Because of that, I still want to make sure all clients have the updated setting for this parameter since I’m having problems with new calendar entries during the DST extended period…and I’m grasping at straws trying to fix the problem.
I followed the instructions and it worked great. My notes.ini was updated from the Desktop Policy. I made sure names.nsf was replicated to other servers and waited for people to come into the office this morning. Some people were updated to the DSTLaw=3, 2, 1, 11, 1, 1 and some were not (still says DSTLAW=4,1,1,10,-1,1).
Why isn’t this parameter getting updated on all client’s machines from the desktop policy settings document? Everyone is in the same domain…if that matters.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
