Use of NotesTimer freezes R6 Notes Client

I am using a NotesTimer to refresh a document every 10 seconds.If I am scrolling the document and the timer gets activated at that time, the Notes UI freezes and the windows Task Manager shows Notes as Not Responding. The CPU usage shows 100%

To reporduce this :

  1. On a document create a button to start the timer and let it refresh the document every 10 seconds

  2. Click on the scroll bar and keep the mouse button pressed (as if you are scrolling the document)

  3. When the timer activates, the R6 Notes Client will freeze and the windows Task Manager will show Notes as Not Responding and the CPU usage shows 100%.

FYI : I am using Notes R6.5 Client.

The only way to get out of this is use “KillNotes”

When I tried this on a Notes R5 Client, there is a slight pause in scrolling and the hour glass flickers, but after that everything works as normal.

Has any one else faced this problem ? Is there a work-around ?

Any suggestions ?
