URL Link in an email that has "_Top" as target opens in notes client

When the user receives an email that contans a URL, the notes client turns the url into a hotspot. The hotspot has the target set to _TopWhen they click on the link, it opens within the notes client instead of opening in the defined browser (set in the location settings as IE)

If I edit the hotspot, and remove the target or change it to something else, it opens correctly in IE.

Why does it open within the notes client? The location settings should force the url to be opened in IE

Thanks

Um, it could be because _top is a reserved name for the current top-level window. In other words, that’s the way it’s supposed to work.

but Notes should use the target top level window in the browser of my choice, surely.

If I have instructed Notes to use MSIE as my browser it should respect my wishes. Allowing a sender to dictate my choice of browser by including _top doesn’t seem reasonable…

Worse still, Notes seems to become confused by this behaviour. We have found some https links that include a _top frame reference break with an “An error occurred during the SSL handshake” until you change the browser settings to Notes with IE.

Same issue. User received newsletter with URL has fram as _parent.

When click on it, it tried to open the url in notes instead IE (default).

After edit the email by removing the fram parameter, it could open in IE.

Any solutions to fix it?
