URL does not update in (local) Browser Preview

I am working on a Notes template on two different computers, on which the paths are not the same.

The URL links (views producing the links) don’t seem to update when going from one computer to another.

How can I delete the “cache” for the views in a database? I believe that’s where the problem lies.

Thanks

Pascal

Hi Pascal

Shift + F9 rebuilds a view’s index.

Shift + Ctrl + F9 rebuilds all the views in a database.

This solves the problem on this occasion but if your view index is not set to refresh properly then the problem will occur again when documents are added or changed in that view.

Links to documents from views should always be relative"

“<a href="” + @Subset(@ViewTitle;1) + “/” + @Text(@DocumentUniqueID) + “">” + LinkText + “”

If the view is going to be used in more than one location (as both a “normal” view and embedded on a form called by a document URL, say), then you can fix the link location by setting a tag with an HREF pointing to the database root in the HTML head for the form.

I have done that, i.e. all the links are relative. And I also have a tag in the HTML header, still no success.

It seems very random, part of the view updates and part does not… strange. I’ll observe further and hope to find a pattern.

Thank you both for your help

The view should not have to update at all is my point – the links should be completely independant of the location of the database.

I agree that what you have said should work in theory but under some circumstances it doesn’t seem to. The prob seems to be when a database is copied at OS level. I’ve just had to copy a database onto a remote server via FTP. The database is in a different directory to the original server. On opening it all of the computed URL’s in the view were trying to access the original path. Strange but true! Ctrl-Shift-F9 didn’t help at all. I actually had to go into each view individually and do a Shift-F9 to solve the problem.

Bizzare behaviour but at least it’s working now…
