Urgent: How to convert a smtp address to another (e.g. @sms -> @sms.some.weird.long.url.com)

Hy all,

I’m realy desperated.

I try to set an address converson in place but all my efforts failed.

I already tried it with a global domain and a smtp foreign domain, but still no success.

Can someone please help me, it’s very urgent for me to solve this problem.

ok, a short description:

I have a sms gateway which has an own smtp domain. Which means that everything sent to

mobilenumber@sms.some.weird.long.url.com

will be sent to the cell phone.

But no one can remember this long domain name, so I try to implement a feature which makes it easier for all users.

If a user sends a mail to

mobilenumer@sms

the domino server should convert it to the already mentioned

mobilenumber@sms.some.weird.long.url.com

is this possible?

can someone please help me…

With best regards

Tom

Subject: If its urgent…

Raise a support call ?

This is - after all - just a meeting place of domino folks. Not a formal support forum staffed by IBM.

Just trying to set your expectations here…

But - after reading your query - why not create person documents with “nice” names such as “Mobile - Fred Bloggs”, and set the internet address to the “fredsMobileNumber@anExtremelyLogMailAddress”.

Then you could also collate them into Notes groups such as: ‘LetsSendThisToEveryoneWithPhones’

You only have to create a new foreign SMTP Domain document in your Domino Directory.

In the Field: “Internet Domain” enter SMS and in the Field: Internet Host (Should be routed to): the Relay Server name.

You have to enter a Internet Host Name. If you type in the Domain Name who Mails addresses to SMS should be routed will not work. Only the Internet Host Name will give you the result you searching for.

hope that helps…
