Urgent ! Date problem!

Please help. I have a great problem.Yesterday our HP Proliant server was crashed. Because of a Carepack the systemboard was replaced the same day. The HP technician entered the current date in the bios but he made a mistake. It was february the 3th, in the Netherlands written as “3-2-2010”. But the bios interpreted this as march the 2nd. OI did not see this. Starting the server, every seemed oke, till one of the users called that her system date was set to March the 2nd. I realised the cause and changed the server’s date. Rebooted the server. Domino began to give errors: “time to far in the future”. I restarted the Domino service and hoped thes would solve itself. But now I see that no messages are written to the server’s log after the date change and also admin4.nsf is empty. What problems can I expect more? How to solve?

It usually happens but not THAT far in the future.

If you dont have the message anymore, I think you are ok. One of the problems that could happen is in replication or fixup. You can get mails deleted.

I would suggest completely stopping the server, make a backup, and run a full maintenance on all the databases.

Fixup -f

compact -B

updall -R

Yes, I knwow it could take a lot of time, but if you can to be sure.

Did you stop the server before changing the date? Because it’s bad to change it while is currently running.

I would delete the log.nsf. The server will recreate it.

Subject: Thanks

log.nsf already recreated by deleting it. Restored names.nsf and admin4.nsf from tape (one day back) and now running fine.Problems left: 25 mailfiles. Found an IBM technote: create replica’s and replace originals by replica. This indeed works, but also is a lot of work.

Thanks for thinking with me . . .

I changed date while server was running but restarted server after date change.
