I need to upgrade my notes mail template to r6.5When I try to do this, a lot of folders simply disappears…

We have been having this problem ever since we started upgrading our clients to R6.5.1.
It turned out that a Refresh Design wiped out the folders and Inbox. When we started doing a REPLACE Design everything worked fine.
Not sure why it is different this time, but it took us a while to determine the solution was a REPLACE not a refresh.
We are going from R5.11/5.12 to 6.5.1 if that makes a difference.

Hi People,
You can find in the sandbox a few solutions for this problem.
If the operating system is a windows, you can use 2 applications found there:
1- Foldfix
2- Foldup.
You should read carefully the instructions, test and find hte better way to deploy.
Those 2 applications came from early 4.x, but it still work on version 5 databases.
I did this a lot, and it helped to solve the problem of folders disappearing.
If you don’t understand how to use them, let me know. I have the instructions archived somewhere.
The most important is use the convert task on the server console. I really don’t like to use a replace/refresh design for multiple databases.

Has anyone found when running Foldfix on databases that it crashes the server?
This is the error capture:
The actual error was “PANIC: Null handle object” — one process (nfoldfix I presume) ran out of ‘private handles’ and caused the crash.
I have run this over the mailfiles without any problems. But now am running it over the archive databases.

This usually happen if you replace design. Usually if you refresh design to the new template or use the convert command on the server it will not remove folders previously created.
