The company where I work, is using domino 8 and notes client 6. They want to upgrade the client to 8. Now Ive been trying to find some documentation for upgrading from client 6 to 8 and found none. Only found from client 7 to client 8. Would somebody know the company impact and the user impact in upgrading from client 6 to client 8 ? I know 8.5 is coming out soon too. Any release date yet?
I just got done talking with IBM Support they say that they are releasing Domino 8.5 sometime in 2009. As for the upgrade from client 6 to 8. It should not be a problem as long as you have converted the mail databases over to version 8 before you upgrade the clients. The Smart Upgrade makes it very easy to upgrade multiple computers.
