Upgrading to Notes 7.0.2

I am attempting to upgrade from Notes 7.0 to 7.0.2. When I get to the installation path screen I wish to change the location where the data files will be installed to but the CHANGE button is greyed out. Can anyone advise how I get the button to be available to click on and change to the desired path.

I have verified that I have full administrator rights to the machine.

All help much appreciated.

As you are upgrading, not installing a new version, you cannot change the data path. Otherwise it could not keep your current contacts, desktop, bookmarks, configurations, etc.

If you wish to change your data folder then prior to running the install you can just move (or copy) your existing data folder. You will also need to modify the notes.ini file and make sure any references to the old folder are changed to the new one.

Remember: always back up first, before making changes of this kind!

But it is not recognising the existing data path - which is the Home drive - it is defaulting to the c: drive path and I am wishing to redirect it back to the Home drive so the new files are copied into that folder??

It sounds like in your “testing” that your notes.ini file values were changed. Unless you are familiar with reading and modifying the notes.ini, I suggest:

Reinstall Notes to the path that it was/is on currently.

Once you see that it is working properly, copy your data directory to the new location.

Uninstall Notes.

Reinstall Notes to the new location.
