Upgrading to JRE 7_11 effect on Lotus Notes client

Our Lotus Notes clients are currently at 8.5.3 FP2. Due to security vulnerability it is being looked at to upgrade the JRE installed on the computers to JRE 7_11.

I have searched and googled but cannot not find much on the impact on doing this.

Could someone point me in the right direction of what JRE is supported with Lotus Notes 8.5.3?

What would be the impact of upgrading the JRE on the client machines?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Try it.

Why don’t you try it on a test system? Surely you have a test environment, both server (for application testing) and client (to test new versions of the client or things like this).
