Upgrading from R4.6.7 to R6.....?

We currently are running a small Notes server farm of about 6 servers for Corporate Mail / Db. The servers and clients are running 4.6.7.

Here’s our proposed migration plan…

  1. Build new servers and copy the db’s from the old to the new servers. Upgrade the NAB to R6.

  2. Upgrade the Client over the period of a week, using the upgrade by mail feature.

Does anyone see any issues or have any practical experience with this type of a migration? I have read the Red books on upgrading and tested this in a limited lab enviornment. I’ve been hearing rumbling from other that we shouldn’t go from 4.6.7 to 6 directly…is this true?

I have not heard any problems moving from 4.6.7 to 6.0. Per the redbook, we made sure all our servers were at 4.6.7a before running through the upgrade. So far we’ve migrated 1 of 4 servers and have had no problems.
