Upgrading Domino Server 6.0.1 to 6.5

Hi everyone,

We currently use Domino 6.0.1 and are looking to upgrade to 6.5 in the near future, primarily for the integrated messaging features. Is there any steps I need to think about or is it just a case of shutting down domino and running the 6.5 installer over the top of 6.0.1? (after a full backup of course!) There doesn’t seem to be an any incremental installers for 6.5 either?

If anyone has any links to upgrade guides that would be fantastic (I can only find guides explaining how to install from scratch).

Thanks ppl

Subject: Thats what I would do. Just stop the Server, Run the Install, Restart the server, Answer Y to upgrade the design.

Please understand that 6.5 on the iSeries is a multi-version capable release. Plan accordingly. There are changes in how the codes are packaged and installed. Understand the impact of all of these in your applications, especially if they use the C API.

I highly recommend that you read the Domino 6.5 Release Notes specific for iSeries.

Please that there will soon be a redbook published describing the implementation of multi-version capable Domino releases on iSeries. (I joined the team writing this redbook).

Besides the libraries and directories used for previous releases you now have release dependent libraries and directories, like lib QDOMINO650 or IFS QIBM/ProdData/Lotus/Domino650.
