We have a couple of sites that have been running “custom” roaming profiles for the past few years. That is, at their demand we configured them to have their user’s data directories run on a shared network drive so that they can logon anywhere and get the same desktop experience. Fully aware this is not a “supported” configuration from Lotus, things have run fairly smoothly. Just wondering if anyone has attempted to upgrade a configuration like this to ND6 and enabled the roaming users feature? If so, how did it go?

We are testing this right now with users we had set up to share computers via Location documents. We haven’t had any major problems, but given the way we did our config we are going to have to completely reinstall every user. We anticipated this, though.
The only problem we have had is with creating local replicas for roaming users. That piece still has some glitches that aren’t critical, but they are annoying and persistent enough to make that feature unusable. Those issues are apparently fairly common and are covered at length in other posts so I won’t repeat them here.
Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any specific questions.
