Upgraded server to 6.5.4 - Hide whens in table cells not hiding the cell

Hi All,

We recently upgraded a server to ND 6.5.4 and we are facing some issues with regards to hide whens in a table cell.

We have used a single row multiple columns table and each cell is a button (by providing appropriate styles to it). The name of button is being provided by a in each cell. Based on the stage of a workflow, we are hiding different buttons (cells) from different users by providing appropriate hide when formulas for the cells. This worked as required in R5.0.12 server. However, when we upgraded the server to ND 6.5.4, the hide whens are not working as expected. For cells that were supposed to be hidden, ONLY the text (of the cell) is being hidden, whereas the cell itself is being displayed. So, if there are 5 buttons and for a particular user only alternate buttons should be visible, then that user is being displayed all the 5 cells with the text for buttons that need to be displayed and NO text (blank cell) for the buttons that should not be displayed.

Has anybody encountered such a situation? If so, what was the resolution. Why has this changed drastically in R6.5.4 or am i missing something?

Please advise and thanks in advance.

It sounds like this is a Domino web application.

Cells will be completely hidden only if the entire row of the table is hidden. This is not new in 6.5.4.

If you have some different requirement, such as hiding a column, perhaps you can do this with passthru HTML. E.g. use no hide formulas, put everything in one cell, and include “” in your computed text if you do want to display a button.

Yes. This is a Domino Web application. Like i said, i want to hide/display only a few columns in a single row multiple columns table. Hide when formulas worked just fine in R5.0.12, but it is not working fine in R6.5.4.

Removing hide when formulas and including HTML tags will be too much of a work for me as there quite a few applications affected by this. Any other suggestions/experiences. Thanks.
