Upgrade to R7.0.2

Tried installing upgrade R7.0.2, thinking it had R7.0.1 packaged with it. Went to install the R7.0.1 upgrade afterwards and getting error “you must have R7 installed”. I checked the upgrade log and showed failure for backup version. How do I can I get R7.0.1 to install/upgrade? So, I can then install/upgrade to R7.0.2.

Thanks … RJ

Where did you get the 7.0.2 incremental installer?

There isn’t one that I know of. I had misread the one that I downloaded. I downloaded the R7.0.2 and tried installing on R7.0 server. The installed failed due because it was looking for the R7.0.1 update. I checked the update log and showed all the failures. When I tried installing the R7.0.1 update, that too failed stating wrong version. Need to have R7 installed, which it is. Any suggestions?

I had similar issue when going from 6.5 to 7. I had to hack the registry and find the version for Lotus Notes and manually edit it. Be careful and note original data.

If you have R7.0 installed now, you need to apply the R7.0.1 upgrade patch before applying the R7.0.2 upgrade patch. Both are available in the downloads area on developerWorks.

If you have the full media, and 7.0 already installed, I would just install the full 7.0.2 right over that. Then grab the FP1 patch and apply that as well.

I tried installing the R7.0.2 over the R7.0 and got an error stating that I needed R7.0.1 first. I then downloaded the R7.0.1 upgrade and got another error stating Not correct verison. Need to have R7 installed, which is already installed. I checked the upgrade log and showed a bunch of failures from when I tried installing R7.0.2. Any suggestions?

What I’m talking about is the full install of Domino 7.0.2, not the incremental installer.

If the incremental installer fails. you need to either re-install 7.0, or look at the log file that it indicates to see what the issue is. Usually it runs in to some kind of file conflict, and you simply need to remove the file in question so the updater can install it.
