Hi,
Some of my local administrator wants to install a new installation of the Domino R6 instead of upgrading the current R5 server to R6.
Is it recommended or possible to rebuilt the Domino server from the start and copy the R5 file needed to start the server?
Is their any documentation on how to proceed with this type of upgrade?

There should be no problem to do what your admins want to do. If they want to do a clean install of the ND6 server, it’s ok. Just make sure that they copy all the necessary files over to the server, before starting it for the first time. It’s always nice to have a clean fresh install, and I have often done something like this. But, it’s no problem doing a usual upgrade either.
