Upgrade to 7.0.3 from 7.0.2FP1 & Build Number

I’ve upgraded our Domino Server from 7.0.2FP1 to 7.0.3. However, when the server restarts, the build version still shows as 7.0.2FP1. I know that I’ve selected the correct program and data directories. I’ve done this a million times before, on other AIX boxes. Within Admin4.nsf I do not see a request to change the server doc with the new information. I’ve checked IBM’s support site, and have searched through the forum and do not see why this wouldn’t show the correct build number when the server is restarted. I’m wondering if the tar file that PassportAdvantage has listed, is an incorrect tar file. I’ve seen one other person experience the same thing, but did not see a solution. Can anyone please clarify? Thanks.

Hi,

Are you talking about this field?

An AdminP request is not generated to update the client build information in the Person document

Server build number is blank or incorrect in Server document

Well, that’s one area that hasn’t changed. However, when the server starts up, and I’m viewing the console, it states Build 7.0.2FP1, and not 7.0.3. That’s what i’m more concerned about. Thanks for your response!

mmm, good question,

I would say that it’s hard-coded in the .exe

I think you will have to call IBM support,

Where Does the Domino Server Store the Version Number and Can That Number be Modified? 1177683

Problem When a Domino server is upgraded, where is the version number that displays on the server console, in the Server document and in the FaultRecovery_Build line of the notes.ini, taken from? Solution Nstrings.dll contains the server version that is reported at the console, the Server document, and in the notes.ini.

It is not recommended that the nstrings.dll file be modified manually. Doing so may result in the server not starting and may also cause irrecoverable corruption of the file.

For a Windows server, yes, I’d agree. This is an AIX 5.2 server. It seems as though the fixes are in place. The server Build number is the only thing that isn’t working correctly.
