Hello,We’re looking to upgrade to 6.5 in the next few months. We’re currently on 6.0.3 and have a few applications which contain some navigators and layout regions. I want to make sure that there are no incompatibility issues with these when we do an upgrade.
Last time, when we upgraded to 6.0, there were some functions that were added by Lotus that conflicted with our functions that were written in-house. Are there any new functions that have been added in Lotuscript or formula languages?
Does anyone know of any problems that could arise from this?
It is probably the wrong idea, but you can’t bring up an R6.5.x server and put your application on it to test it out? If that is too much, check out the Release Notes for 6.5.x or search the forum.
It would probably be better just to have a small, test 6.5.x server and put your app on it and test it.
I agree with Gregg. Management believes our Lotus shop is “critical” yet they won’t purchase any test boxes for me. They did purchase me a copy of VMWare Workstation and a high powered PC. I have a few virtual machines setup on its on virtual network that i am able to do my testing on. Its relatively in-expensive to them ($400 for VMWare?) and works out great for me. I am able to not only keep my testing seperate from my production environment, but still mimic my critical servers and copy data to those virtual machines with no issues.
