Upgrade problem

I have the Domino server 7.0 installed on Windows XP. I even reinstalled it using the file C84W2na. I am trying to upgrade and tried the module C89vdna. I got the message "Installer found the incorrect 7.0 August 18 2005 …Looking in the install log It looks like most modules have the wrong checksum. The log says

“Lotus Domino (r) Server started, running Release 7.0”

Did you for any chances download it via ftp? Or Linux?

I mean, maybe you downloaded it into a Linux machine and then copied it to another PC via ftp.

Hi, You should,

  1. use killnotes.exe

  2. restart your computer

  3. uninstall the server via program.…

4.install the soft and follow the usual steps

Just let me know if you still have pbm. i’ll try to get around.

The killnotes.exe kills any running processes. I do not have a problem with that. My problem is that the C89vdna upgrade package does not recognize my installed 7.0 base (C84w2na) as the correct 7.0 version. The upgrade log lists a LONG list of wrong checksums. I do not see how the procedure you outline would help me with that

well we recently had a similar pbms. We solved one using the procedure i gave. We also solved another one checking the environment variables. The soft was looking for c:… . Hope this help. Bern’

Hi

Sometimes, of you make a FTP transaction with the flab binary set to 0, you will end up with a file which is different in size from the original.

I would download the file again

(I am assuming you are talking about the checksum on the installer and not in the already installed server)

Subject: RE: Upgrade problem

Well, I used HTTP for download and the program did check the integrity of the install module OK. Eveything went smoothly until the installer (C89VDNA) checked the checksum of the installed 7.0 Domino modules, the installer definitely sees the installed version as the wrong one even if it is a 7.0 (C84W2na) (I just reinstalled it)

Like this ( a small sample):

File nservlet.dll failed checksum. (Found 0x54a27022, Expected 0x31901566)

Well, after you installed the server 7.0, did you started first? Or just run the upgrade program right after you installed it?

If you did not started if, try to do so and then run the upgrade program.

Subject: RE: Upgrade problem

There must be something wrong with the original installation file for 7.0 even if everything seems OK. The install file is C84W2NA. It says 7.0 during installation.

I did a new install of the server using this file. Eveything worked OK, it says it installed 7.0. I did the install on a virgin computer that never have had a server installed on it. I did the setup and I run the server. Eveything worked fine. I closed the server and tried to upgrade using the upgrade found on the support site, C89WDNA. It still says that it found the wrong version 7.0 and refuses to update. It is very frustrating!

Yes. There must be something wrong with that install file. I have the one that comes with the jar file.

Try to unzip it using winrar or some sort of program like that. If you have any problems after that, then I would download it again.

Good luck
