hi i would like to have the correct path for upgrading my Notes client from 5.X to 8.0.1 :i plan to upgrade my server first from 5.X to 8.0.1
than upgrade the notes clients to 8 using upgrade by mail.
some user may have notes apps .

You should upgrade to 6.5.x first, and then upgrade to R8. This is what is supported by IBM.
