Upgrade not supported?

Just got back from an IBM seminar on Release 8 upgrades. Talk about the 8.5 Beta motivated me to try it out. Unfortunately, though, I got this error msg on install: “The upgrade you are attempted is not supported.”

Say what?

I’m trying to upgrade a fully-functional copy of Release 8.0.1 Revision 20080214.1630 client.

Got any creative ideas for me?

Subject: For Beta1 just uninstall Notes Client first and then install 8.5 to the same program and data directory

That will mimic 8.5 GA upgrade behavior.

You’ll have to know where 8.0.1 was installed because the registry entries will be removed by the uninstall so it will give you the defaults on the new installation… Possibly it’s the same but if not you’ll need to manually change during the install to 8.5 Beta 1
