In past engagmnts, it was necessary to perform the upgrade in two steps, the first was to upgrade from 6.5.x to 7.0 then from 7.0 to 8.0.x or 8.5.x.
The reason for that was, if an upgrade from 6.5.x to 8.0.x (or 8.5.x) was attemped, the Windows service name disappeared.
It was possible to reinstall it, but since this was done as a side operation, any upgrade would not deal with the added service causing problems down the road.
Is this still a problem with 8.5.2? It was as of 8.5.1 and I wonder if this is finally resolved. The only reason I ask is that: a) it may make for an interesting topic for this call and, b) obviously, I have not had the time to try it in a lab scenario with 8.5.2 since its recent releasse.
Thank you in advance.
