Upgrade Folder Design against R4 mail

Currently the users are using Notes 4.6.4 client. I’m planning to upgrade them directly to Notes 6.x. The question is: after I upgrade the client software and Mail db design to 6, can I run the Upgrade Folder Design action against previously R4 folders? The Upgrading to Lotus Notes and Domino 6 redbook suggests that we shouldn’t do it.

I’m just wondering if someone has done it before and if so what is the outcome?

The I’m doing this every day, there is no problems doing this. Migrating 4.61 clients to 6.x.

yeah me too. No problems
