hello all, sorry for my poor english, but i hope you understand me all.
now my question:
Upgrade Domino?
at the moment we have one domino server v.7.0.2 on windows 2003 enterprise 32-bit (english version) installed. now i shout upgrade them to v.8.0.2. i searched on the web (ibm, google etc) in the hope i found a guidline to do this, i found nothing!
Upgrade OS from Windows 2003 Enterprise 32-Bit to Windows 2008 32-Bit or 64-Bit?
can i do this afther the upgrade from domino?
sorry for this amateur question’s, but this is the first time for me to upgrade a domino server.
Of course you can do a lotus domino upgrade, but first of all do a backup before start doing upgrade. There’s a redbook to upgrade Lotus Notes and Domino 7 Enterprise Upgrade Best Practices
Just do a Lotus Domino upgrade. Don’t do an os upgrade that will be a nightmare. If you want to do an upgrade of both lotus domino and os it’s hard to do both things.
thank’s for the fast answer. sorry i don’t speak spanish, german is my nativ language.
another idee: when i install domino v.8.0.2 on a new os installation can i copy and paste the mail files from the old installation to the new? i think afther the copy the mailfiles have the old version, can i change it.
Subject: Thats what I thought - but I was not perfectly sure.
I would seperate going to a new OS and going to a new Version into two seperate steps with at least 10 days of production inbetween. My own server used to be windows and is now on linux. all this is doable, but there could be issues. If you need to talk in German you can google down my name.
