Upgrade Client to 8.5.2 : how long does it take?

I’m upgrading my 8.5.1 fp2 full client installation to 8.5.2.First time waited 1h15’ for the process to complete then killed it, because i found no log files documenting any progress.

2nd time I did find the LotusNotesInstaller.log file, and now it’s been busy about 2 minutes doing stuff, but for 45 minutes now it does nothing but add the following line to the log about every second:

XPD: 26/08/2010 10:16:37 Provisioning/getLogStatusUpdates: DEBUG - Looking for C:\Lotus\notes850\data\workspace\logs.prov2install or C:\Lotus\notes850\data\workspace\logs\provisioning.log

Will one of these files eventually appear? Or do i try to install the client in a new directory and see what that gives?

oh yes : Win7 x64 4Gig Ram C2Duo @ 2,5Ghz.

Thanks.

Jo.

Subject: Notes 8.5.2 DOES take a long time to install

Your installation looks like it’s not right, but 8.5.2 does take a long time to install. I installed on a ½ year old Lenovo desktop Core2Duo with plenty RAM over a 8.5.1 FP3. It took more than 30 minuttes to install the client.

Another hickup. 8.5.2 only comes with sametime 8.0.2 client. I just did an update and installed the 8.5.1 Embedded Sametime on to 8.5.2. When finished it said “Finished UNINSTALLING Sametime 8.5.1” (in Danish). That’s going to confuse someone.

But it DID install the Sametime 8.5.1 embedded client.
