I am trying to upgrade our R5 clients to R6 using the upgrade by mail option with a custom installation. I have been following the directions in the Upgrading to Lotus Notes and Domino 6 redbook. I installed the InstallShield Tuner for Lotus Notes and setup the installation on a shared network drive, but my users get an “Error reading setup initialization file” when they try to upgrade. I have searched high and low for the problem and haven’t found any solutions. Does anyone know what may be wrong?

RESOLVED!!! My problem was trying to create an installation launcher for Windows clients. Once I skipped this option, which the “Upgrading to Lotus Notes and Domino 6” redbook mentions using for Windows clients like it is a no-brainer, I was fine. All I had to do was create a .bat file to have the install button run in the upgrade e-mail.
