In the past days we made some tests upgrading VM with SLES10 from Domino 8.0 to 8.0.1.Often we had the problem that Domino files were not put in /opt/lotus/notes/80010/linux but in /opt/lotus (this is a very big problem). But sometimes everything worked fine. It seems that this is connected to the fact that X environment was active during the upgrade: when X was active, upgrade was good, otherwise it wasn’t.
Is it possible? Did someone experienced the same problem?
thank you
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
When performing the upgrade, which method of installation (console or GUI) are you using? Please clarify for both scenarios you detailed, when in runlevel 3 and 5.
Thanks!
Subject: Console
Always console, never GUI.
Thank you very much.
Subject: Upgrade 8.0 → 8.0.1 on SLES10
Hi Stefano,
at last it’s claer to me. In the past days i think i will get crazy. Now, it is fine to find a companion in misfortune.
I have exactly the same problem. I want to upgrade my Domino Server Testmachine under SLES10 in a VM from Version 8.0 to 8.0.1.
Only when i start the install in GUI-Mode directly under the Gnome it is successfull.
When i start install in -console-Mode i get the same problem, that all libs etc. are locate under /opt/lotus
When i try to start the Installer in GUI-Mode and with a local X Server on my Desktop, i get a JAVA Font error! When i start another Application with my local X-Server it works fine.
