Upgrade 6.5 - 6.5.2 : Version Error

Hi,I’ve tried upgrading version 6.5 to 6.5.2 on two PCs (one XP and one Tablet PC), both running a french XP and English Domino.

When I try the latest upgrade 65-652, I get an error message stating that I can only upgrade if I have a version 6 installed (notes.ini states 6.5).

When I try 65 to 651 upgrade, I get a french message from the installer saying that it could not install due to wrong software.

I have managed ot upgrade 65 to 652 on another french XP system with no problems.

Any ideas where to look ??? Any help appreciated !

hi Mike

try to installl the Full Installation Paket for Lotus Notes 6.5.2… (Core-Installation)

Check the Language of the Installation Paket if you are using a different Language as English.

Thanks Florian

I don’t have access to the whole package, and will not for a few weeks since I’m working off site.

The language should be ok. I used similar on another french XP, and that worked. Tried looking in registry and otehr files, and everywhere it says 6.5 so don’t know why the installed insists that I’ve got the wrogn version…

Driving me bonkers…

I’ve seen where open files have caused the “wrong version” situation you mentioned. Try to rename nlnotes.dll and js32.dll and see if your OS will allow you to do the rename … if it does not, restart your machine.

After restart, retry the renames, but name the files back after it works. At this point try the incremental installer.

This happened to me in the past and even with 6.5.2 last week, so maybe it will help you!

Best of luck!
