Hi Folks,Currently I am using Lotus notes 6.5 , If I will update lotus notes to 8.5 then will I get any issue? will this affect application badly? If yes then what proactive steps to be taken so that end user will not suffer.

Subject: Upgrade info
I suggest looking thru the best practices posts contained below since every install is different. I would however, first upgrade to the latest 6.5.6 before going to 8.5.2. We had very little problems proving once again that Notes has a great upgrade path without doing a rip-and-replace.
We built brand new servers and then migrated our apps and mail files over. If you use an image to load your clients be aware that the upgrade of client PAB and Bookmarks may not be detected. In this case you need to set the client notes.ini TemplateSetup=850101 back to TemplateSetup=656000 then when the client restarts you will see the updates being applied to the proper files (i.e. PAB,…) 8.5.x also does not touch the ODS of you apps so you can continue to run them until you are ready to do a convert on them .
I have apps that were written as far back as 3.x which converted without any problem. There is no deprecation. Most of the apps are running threaded scripts and/or scheduled agents without disruption.
