Updating password of ID file of user

To update the password of the ID file we are calling a Lotus Agent from our java code.

This agent calls the below method to update the password of the ID file.

W32_SECKFMChangePassword ( idfilepath,oldpassword , newpassword )

But this takes the old password of the ID file. But we are not having the old password with us.

Is there any API to update the password of the ID file without providing the old password?

Or

Is there any API to retrieve the password of the ID file?

I hope not…that would be a pretty big security problem.

Nope, the only way to reset the password on a Notes ID file without knowing the old password is to use ID file recovery – but that would have needed to have been configured on the ID file before the password was lost.
