We are employing an Intranet Search Site database as part of our intranet site. The entire site was “inherited” from previous developers, contractors, etc., who are no longer available.
The “Search” feature uses the referenced db. To the best of my knowledge, it has never functioned properly. If you enter the name of an employee as the search string it will return ALL documents containing the name. Unfortunately, if the name is someone like a notes admin, it will return documents if the name appears in $UpdatedBy. In addition, most of the returned documents are displayed by UNID.
The search database design is based on the StdNotesSearchSite template. Should I try to tweak this beast or start over from scratch? Any recommendations or best practice for intranet site search method?
